Langfred W. White


Langfred W. White is the owner and principal attorney of the Law Offices of Langfred W. White PA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, from which he was graduated in 1968. He obtained a Master of Arts in Public Administration degree, with honors, from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977. He graduated with honors from Stetson University College of Law in 1981, and was admitted to the Florida Bar in September 1981. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar. Mr. White is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, designated as a Barrister, Order of Equitas, and is a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute.

Mr. White is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, serving on both the commercial and construction panels. He is also an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

From 1981 through 2001, Mr. White concentrated his practice in the area of litigation with the bulk of his work in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors' rights. He was board certified in Business Bankruptcy, by the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification from 1993 through 2003. He was a shareholder in Kimpton, Burke, White & Heiden PA, a law firm of which he was a member from 1986 through late February, 2001. From March 2001 until late 2005, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of ICC Financial Group, which was a group of companies engaged in turn-around management, venture capitalism and real estate development endeavors, and which also operated hospitals, a trucking company and a construction company. ICC Financial Group ceased business in late 2005, at which time Mr. White became Senior Vice President and General Counsel to a related group of affiliates known collectively as South Capital Financial Group. Those affiliated companies include four different real estate development companies, a general contractor and two real estate investment companies.

In February 2007, Mr. White left South Capital Financial Group and established this law practice, known as The Law Offices of Langfred W. White, PA. The firm concentrates its practice in construction law, construction litigation and commercial litigation.

Mr. White also served as Adjunct Professor of law at Stetson University College of Law from 1996 until late 2000, teaching primarily in the area of secured transactions. In addition, he formerly chaired the Banks and Banking Committee and the Bankruptcy Committee of the Clearwater Bar Association. He is the author of Chapter 6 "Bankruptcy Considerations in Debtor-Creditor Relations" Florida Bar CLE Practice Manual, 1987, and "Non-Simultaneous Like Kind Exchanges" Stetson Law Review, 1980. Mr. White is proud to have served as a Director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pinellas County, Inc. for nineteen years, and was President of its Board for three terms. He has recently become a motorcycle enthusiast, and has taken road trips through Alaska, up the Blue Ridge Parkway, around the Four Corners Region of the desert Southwest, and the Andes Mountains of Peru.
